Etalage vs Kajabi vs Uscreen

Which video membership platform is right for your fitness or wellness studio? An honest breakdown — without the marketing fluff.

If you run a yoga studio, pilates practice, meditation channel, or any other fitness or wellness brand online, you've probably looked at the big names: Kajabi, Uscreen, Vimeo OTT, Teachable. They're powerful. They're also built for a different kind of business than most studio owners actually run.

This article breaks down how Etalage compares — honestly.

Kajabi

What's good

Kajabi has excellent marketing tools — email sequences, funnels, landing pages. If you want to build a full digital business with courses, coaching, newsletters, and memberships all under one roof, Kajabi is a serious option.

What's not great for studio owners

  • It starts at $89/month, and the features most studios actually need require higher tiers.
  • It's a generalist platform. Video memberships for fitness studios aren't the core use case — courses are.
  • There's no native mobile app included at lower tiers. Members access content through a generic Kajabi app, not branded to your studio.
  • Airplay and Chromecast support is minimal to nonexistent.
  • The member experience feels more like an online school than a studio.

Verdict: Kajabi is excellent if you want to build a full digital content business with marketing automation at its core. It's overkill and oddly limited for studio owners who just want members to have a beautiful, smooth video experience.

Uscreen

What's good

Uscreen has strong video infrastructure, a clean member experience, and supports native apps. It's a solid product, genuinely built for the use case.

What's not great

  • Uscreen starts at around $149/month for the basic plan, and native mobile apps require the Growth plan at $299/month or more.
  • The platform is priced and designed primarily for established creators with existing audiences.
  • There's no migration service — you're on your own when moving over.

Verdict: Uscreen is a mature, capable platform. If you have an established audience and the budget fits, it works well. But for smaller studios or those just starting out, the price-to-value ratio is hard to justify.

Etalage

We'll be upfront: this is our platform. Take this section with that in mind — but we'll try to be honest about what we are and what we're not.

Price

Starting at €49/month, Etalage is built to be accessible — for the instructor with 10 videos and 20 members as much as for the studio with hundreds of subscribers. The native app is included from the start, not locked behind a higher tier.

The member experience

The iOS and Android app is the product. Your members open the app, see your studio — your colors, your content, your style — and the video just plays. Airplay and Chromecast are built in, because we know people want to cast workouts to their living room TV.

Built for fitness studios

Programs, sections, labels, curated video lists — the content structure is built around how fitness and wellness studios actually organize their content, not how a generic online course platform does it.

Subscriptions included

You don't need to wire together payment tools. Etalage handles subscription billing natively.

Migration help

If you're coming from another platform, we help you move your videos, content, and member data. This is something we offer because we know how painful switching platforms can be.

What Etalage is not (yet): We don't have the breadth of marketing automation tools that Kajabi has. We're focused on the studio experience — the content, the members, the streaming. If you need deep email funnels and landing page builders baked in, you'll use a separate tool for that.

Which platform should you choose?

  • Kajabi: Choose Kajabi if you want an all-in-one digital business platform with strong marketing automation, you sell courses and memberships together, and budget isn't the primary concern.
  • Uscreen: Choose Uscreen if you have an established audience, need enterprise-grade video infrastructure, and have the budget for it from day one.
  • Etalage: Choose Etalage if you run a fitness or wellness studio — online or hybrid — and you want your members to have a beautiful native app experience from day one, at a price that works even if you're just starting out.
